Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Daddy's 50th birthday!! He's having a big celebration today in Manitoba! (Unfortunately, the celebration is for someone else).

Below is a picture of Daddy when he was my age. I know I've used this picture before, but that's 'cause it's Daddy's only baby picture. Frankly, I'm surprised cameras even existed back then.

I made it!

As you can see, I made it to Gimli, Manitoba! I flew in yesterday and boy are my arms tired!

We spent most of today relaxing on the beach (seen behind me, under the rocks). While there, Mommy showed me how to skip rocks on the water (she was good, but I was even better).

The highlight of our day was when we saw Canada's elite navy guard, the famous "Gimli Harbour Patrol" protecting our waters.

Going away for the weekend!

I'm not sure if this is a good thing, but I'm going to Gimli, Manitoba tomorrow! (for my cousin's wedding). Unfortunately, I can't take my sub-compact to the airport 'cause Daddy's luggage won't fit.

Hopefully, they have internet access in Gimli so I can post to my blog. Otherwise, I'll have to do other things, like enjoy the party.

Helping Mommy with her shopping

Every week I help Mommy with her grocery shopping (it's one of my many responsibilities). My job is to push the cart.

As you can see, the cart is way too big. If any 'shopping-cart engineers' are reading this- please design a smaller cart! And once you're at it, fix the annoying wheel wobbles!!

Basketball is another sport I like. My specialty are free throws. I've been doing them since I was one year old. (Before that I was just dribbling).

Cued Kid

Daddy took this picture right after I cued up (I also cued some balls). Personally, I find this game easy. I think the hardest part is climbing to the table.

Here I am about to press the start button on our treadmill. Since Daddy left the room for 'just a minute' I though it would be a good time to grab a chair, put it on the treadmill and push the start button.

Fortunately, Daddy caught me just in time! (Mommy wasn't too pleased when she saw this picture).

Falling off my Favourite Chair (27th month)

Usually, this is how my monthly photo sessions end up- with me on the floor. Normally I start off sitting in my favourite chair. Then the squirming starts. This eventually leads to my downfall.

My new favourite sport

I really like baseball. In fact, I play it every day!

Here I am showing Daddy how to hold a bat (he's a very fast learner). Batting is my favourite part of this sport. Or maybe it's Pitching. Actually, my favourite part is spending time with Daddy!

While playing baseball with Daddy, I smashed the ball into the left field bushes. Here I am trying to retrieve it.

Cheering Mommy up

Here I am having fun with Mommy (she's holding me back from my usual mayhem and destruction)*. Daddy would've helped but he's still recuperating from his hernia.

Packing up Tora's stuff

Now that Tora's gone, Mommy's been packing away her stuff. Here I am with Tora's travel bag (It's a lot lighter with Tora not in it). We also packed her unused scratching posts (here are her real scratching posts).

Mommy hasn't packed Tora's 'couch towels' yet because of the couch indentations (they remind her of the cat). Since Mommy was extra close to Tora, she's extra sad. That's why I'm giving Mommy extra attention.

Tora passed away

I've got very sad news. Tora died yesterday (Mommy found her last night by my bed).

I'm not sure what dying is but it's probably bad 'cause Mommy was crying when she told me. She said I won't be seeing Tora any more which made me very sad. I've known Tora all my life and have lots of fond memories of her. Here are some of them from my blog:

Giving Daddy 'The Look'

Whenever Daddy says something truly ridiculous, I give him 'the look'. I learned this skill from Mommy.

Grabbing the last piece of sushi

Oh oh, you caught me! Coming from a family of men (Mommy calls us "Neanderthals"), I've learned to eat fast. Since chopsticks slow me down, I prefer to use the "shove 'n poke" method.

I got a haircut! (again)

Can you believe it? Just 3 months after my first haircut, Mommy & Daddy cut it again! Parents can be so exhausting!

Sometimes, when I least expect it, Jason traps me in a deadly leg hold. Once caught, it's impossible to escape.
